Global positioning system (gps): it provides accurate position, speed and heading information of ships. it is the most basic navigation equipment of modern ships. electronic chart display and information system (ecdis): it integrates and displays electronic charts with gps, radar, ais and other information to provide comprehensive navigation information and can be used for route planning, route monitoring and collision avoidance assistance. radar system: including x-band and s-band radar, it is used to detect other ships, land, navigation marks and other targets. it is the main navigation means when visibility is poor. compass system: including magnetic compass and gyro compass, it provides ship heading information and is the basic pointing equipment for ship navigation. bathysounder: measures the depth of the waters in which the ship is located to prevent grounding. autopilot: automatically controls the steering gear according to the set heading or route to keep the ship sailing according to the predetermined heading and reduce the labor intensity of the crew.
